Gado Gado: A Colorful Indonesian Salad with Peanut Sauce

Malaysian and Indonesian shared the same root as my dad's grandparents are from Jawa.

Gado Gado is a dish which my dad very familiar with. Therefore my mom took the time to imperfect this gado gado recipe which lies on the peanut sauce and here I inherited her recipe.

Luckily today we decided to lay off on mean and eat more vegetables. Hence we decided to do gado gado/ pecel. The vegetables can be any of your choices. Some you can choose to boil, some goes well if its fried. So this is what my dad bought at the market; Tempe, Tahu, kangkung, kacang panjang, uni and tauge.


Gado-Gado Peanut Sauce:

1 cekur (Aromatic ginger)

3 garlic

3 Cili Padi

Asam Jawa (tamarind water)

Grind Peanut (Cooked/ baked)

Salt and Sugar to balance


*Mix it well.
